This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Pro Guest Ranking (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit proguestranking.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at admin@proguestranking.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Comments. When you leave a comment we collect the name, email address and website you enter, the comment itself, your IP address and your browser’s user-agent string (used for spam detection). Your email address is never shown publicly.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe to our email updates, we collect your email address (and name, if you provide it) to send you new guides. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Emails and guest post pitches. If you email us, for example to pitch a guest post under our Contributor Guidelines, we keep your name, email address and the content of your message to reply and to manage your submission.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data. Pages you visit, how you arrived at the site, approximate location (country/city level), browser, device type and similar technical information, collected through the analytics tools described below.
- Server and security logs. Our hosting server records IP addresses and requests to keep the site running and secure. Our security tools also record the IP address of failed login attempts to block attacks on the site.
- Cookies. See “Cookies” below and our Cookies Policy.
How we use your information
- To publish and moderate comments and to filter spam.
- To send the newsletter you signed up for.
- To reply to your messages and review guest post submissions.
- To understand which content is useful and improve the site (analytics).
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
- To meet legal obligations.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on these legal bases: your consent (newsletter, analytics cookies where consent is required), our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the site (comments, security logs, replying to messages), and legal obligations.
Analytics and third-party services
We use the following services, which may process personal data on our behalf or receive it directly from your browser:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC), connected through Google Site Kit, to measure site traffic and usage. Google’s use of this data is described in Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Jetpack (Automattic Inc.), for site statistics and security features. See Automattic’s Privacy Policy.
- Gravatar (Automattic Inc.). If you comment, an anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to Gravatar to show your profile picture, if you have one.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its data on its servers.
- Embedded content. Articles may include embedded content (for example videos or social media posts). Embedded content behaves exactly as if you visited the other website, which may collect data about you and set cookies.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work (for example to remember your cookie choices and, if you comment, your name and email for your next comment), and analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings button on the page. More detail is in our Cookies Policy.
How long we keep your information
- Comments and their metadata are kept for as long as the comment is published.
- Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
- Emails and submissions are kept for as long as needed to handle them and our working relationship, and then deleted.
- Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of the analytics service (for Google Analytics, no longer than 14 months).
- Security and server logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted automatically.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or privacy laws in California and other US states), you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, receive a copy of it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw your consent at any time. To make a request, email admin@proguestranking.com. We will respond within the time required by law. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and protected by security tools that limit login attempts and monitor for malicious activity. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
International transfers
The services we use (such as Google and Automattic) may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, these transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
This site is intended for adults working in publishing, marketing and SEO. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised.
